Slip Sliding Awareness in Bowling - Mastering the Perfect Slide

If you want to improve your bowling game there are two things you need to do first. One is that you must be mentally in the game and have the will to take charge and trust self. Two, and this is where I'd like to focus my talk today, is that you need to have sliding awareness so you are not slip-sliding-away.
Okay so, let's talk about your perfect slide and how you can practice this without actually throwing the ball, and yes it may look silly miming a bowling slide, but no one is going to laugh when you help take your team to the top of the league, you can trust me on that. Shall we begin?

First rule of thumb is use those lines to help you with your take off roll, these are your markers, use them. Know your steps, and your abilities. Understand how your perfect slide should look, and for exactly how far that final slide should be. Remember too, that when you are actually bowling with a ball in your hand you'll have extra pounds on you and this will increase your slide 8-12 inches. So, when practicing, you need to practice by sliding up to the line about 12-15 inches back when you come to a stop.
When practicing, as you release the that virtual ball, just as if you were playing Wii your hand should come up to shake hands with the pins at exactly the place you wish the ball to hit them. You'd be surprised how accurate you'll be. If you doubt this, crumple up a piece of paper and shoot it across the room into the waste paper basket, and as you release the paper, open your hand and shake hands with the center of the trash can as from your vantage point.
Some say, come on, this isn't rocket science. Okay, that's true, but all the same physics of kinetic energy, weight, gravity, motion, friction, velocity, and trajectory still apply. It's just math and you'd be surprised how well your mind does at judging things once it gets the hang of it. For instance, have you ever bowled a ball and you knew it was going to be a strike or you were going to pick up a space the instant that ball left your hand?
Sure, we all have, and that's what I am talking about here. You need your slide to be perfect too, and you need to know it will be perfect, because it will feel perfect as you go. Indeed, I hope you will please consider all this and think on it.
