Bowling Tips As a Beginner

Here are a few basics that one needs to know when you take on bowling. First, you need to assert whether or not you are bowling alone or in a league. When you are bowling in a league, you should know that you are in a team and there are certain requirements. When you are in a league though not important it is necessary to have your own equipment that way the level of consistency is increased because you get use to your own shoes and ball.

If you are not bowling in a league then this is not necessary you can grab a pair of rental shoes and a ball and make sure that the holes are not too tight that way your fingers will have space when your fingers swell. Your second knuckle should line up with the fingers and the thumb should be in line with the thumb hole. The weight of the ball should match your capability to actually hold the ball; men tend to take balls that range between 14 - 16 pounds. Women and children tend to use lighter balls, with women taking between 8-15 pounds and the children 8 pounds. It is not a set standard though the more experienced the player the heavier the ball.
There are balls all individuals because of the differences but there is a common rule that governs both the right handed and left handed player that you should the second set of dots and not the ones near the ball rack. To determine which side you will use depending on the side of the hand that you use just stand in the centre of the dots, gaze over the alley. Then you will see some arrows that stretch from the gutter, the right side is for those who are right handed and the left side is for those who are left handed. The other thing that you need to know as a beginner knows your stance, this is determined by where your ball hit if it hit on the right then you are required to move left aboard on the alley. If the ball hit on the left then you are required to move to the right side of the board.
The condition of the alley whether it is dry or wet will affect your performance. One way to know how is watching the ball. If the ball goes to "Brooklyn", which for the right handed is the left of the head pin and right of the hand pin to the left handed then it means that the alley is dry. If the alley is oily it will not hook enough rather it will hit the nook of the "pocket" which is the right head pin for the right handed and just to the left hand pin for those who are left handed. It is important to note that if the ball is going too far to the right, that you should also try to move to the right, if that does not work then move to your left, and if the ball is moving left do the same. This is the single most important rule to learn and it will improve your accuracy.
